Rules

Here's the thing about rules: they're here to ensure that everyone has as much fun as possible, and an important part of having fun is feeling safe and comfortable. So in the spirit of making sure everyone can have a good time:

  1. Be Awesome To One Another: as the great Bill and Ted once requested, so shall we. Try to be good to one another as you play. Be mindful of your actions and your words. Remember at all times that this is a GAME and that the point is to have fun. Respect, appreciation... all that jazz. Try to treat your fellow player like you'd want to be treated.

  2. PLAY! You can't have fun if you're not actually playing. So get out there, make your posts, plot your plots, do your thing! Part of that is making your check ins each month if you're an apped player, but mostly we just want you to have fun in the sandbox, here.

  3. IC =/= OOC: In a game where there are going to be confrontations, heroes, villains, battles, all that, it's deeply important that everyone keep in mind that IC actions do not reflect (and should not effect) OOC feelings. Also that IC feelings do not effect OOC feelings. Characters can, and should, have opinions and reactions that are not mirrored by the player and vice versa.

  4. No Godmodding: There are going to be fights in this game, so this one is important. Everyone has their skills and their abilities, and the person who's going to know those best is going to be each individual player. If you're going to have an IC fight, we would encourage communication, but more importantly, we will insist that players do not godmode during these conflicts.

  5. No Breaking the 4th Wall (Without Permission): With this being the city on the border of fiction and reality, anything goes when it comes to 4th wall breaking as long as you have the player's permission. There's more information on that in the FAQ. If there is no player representing the canon, please feel free to be aware of a canon's existence/characters/etc. as you feel is appropriate to your character.

  6. Please Obey All App/Plotting/Etc. Rules Listed Elsewhere. I'm not going to restate them here, but if you have questions on these topics, please refer to those individual pages.
